The Random Maxx Web site describes the group as a "vocal power pop" band. Maxx played at (Summerfest) 2:30 p.m. at the Miller Lite Oasis, and I was extremely impressed by the five Brew City musicians.

I was so impressed with Random Maxx's performance in the Skylight Opera's 'Hedwig & the Angry Inch' last year that we can't miss these local rockers. They play at noon at the Miller Lite Oasis.

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Area Music Industry has announced the nominees in 33 categories for its 23rd annual awards program scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 28 at the Northern Lights Theater at Potowatomi Bingo Casino.

It's a problem that most bands have, even the world's most famous. How do you make sure people keep you in mind, even between projects? For Random Maxx, one of Milwaukee's most popular local original bands, the answer is the "Bonus CD."

If you listen to their new CD, "Rock Star Parking," it is the joy of playing together that is most apparent. Their brand of four-part harmonies and tight, fun pop is also gaining the attention of more than just their loyal fans.

There are some scorching '70s guitar licks on the debut CD by Milwaukee's Random Maxx, but as drummer Jim Schweitzer heartily admits, "Loud is not a word that springs to mind with this band. Nobody holds their ears and runs from the room when we play. We're melodically and lyrically oriented."
